SDGs Hiroshima Yukicho Co-Creation Forest
– Forest with cow-living environment-

Together with Sagotani Farmer in Yukicho, Hiroshima, we are working on a co-creation project to nurture cow-living forest.
This co-creation project aims to contribute to carbon offsets by encouraging each and every employee to learn about the co-existence of humans and nature through tree-planting experiences.

SDGs・Co-Creation

Project Overview

A part of the forest (target area 1500m2) in Sagotani Farmer (35ha)
will be established as the “F&P SDGs Hiroshima Yukicho Co-Creation Forest.”

  1. 1. Support for nurturing forests through tree planting

Assistance for growing forests through tree planting once a year by setting up “F&P SDGs Hiroshima Yukicho Co-Creation Forest” (1,500㎡) in Sagotani Farmer “Creation of Cow-living Forest”

  2. 2. Contributing to Carbon Offset through Forest Development

We requested Sagotani Farmer to construct “F&P SDGs Hiroshima Yukicho Co-Creation Forest” in “Creation of Cow-living Forest”. Through the development of forests in the F&P sponsored area, it will protect the wealth of land and contribute to CO2 absorption.

  3. 3. Learning about co-existence between people and nature

In addition to learning about co-existence between people and nature on-site, we aim to create opportunities for each employee to think about the environment and take steps toward carbon neutrality by offering tree-planting experiences and gifts of dairy products from local farms to all employees.

Learning about the co-existence of people and nature, nurturing people
to lead to the creation of a SDGs future

CO2 savings from tree planting

Tree-planting activities aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.
We will continue to work with Sagotani Farmers and our employees to nurture the plains of the area so that one day it will grow into a rich forest where cows can live and where people and nature can coexist.
We hope that these activities will contribute to the earth, society, and the future, and that they will be a step toward realizing a sustainable society.

Value created through the project

1. SDGs : Contribution to reducing CO2 emissions

Contribute to global environmental conservation and fulfill the mission, mainly to reduce CO2 emissions.
It also provides an opportunity for employees to become aware of the need to create a sustainable society through support for forest planting and forest maintenance.

2. Communication exchange: a place for communication among employees

Support for forest planting and the maintenance of forests is provided jointly to deepen communication between employees and their understanding of F&P’s SDGs initiatives.

3. Benefits: Delivering gifts from the forest to employees’ families

By distributing dairy products produced through co-creation with Sagotani Farmer to employees and their families as a token of gratitude, we will share our SDGs efforts and share the blessings of nature.

To our employees and the families

We sincerely appreciate your continued dedication to your work. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families of our employees for your support.

We are pleased to share that one of our SDGs Co-Creation Projects, “F&P Hiroshima Yuki Town Co-Creation Forest – The Forest Where Cows Roam,” successfully held its third tree-planting event in mid-May with the participation of 17 employees.

In collaboration with Sagotani Farmer in Yukicho, Hiroshima, this project aims to create a forest where cows can live over a 20-year period through tree-planting activities. Through this project, it is our goal for each employee to learn about the coexistence of humans and nature, as well as contribute to achieving carbon neutrality (reducing CO2 emissions). We are all looking forward to seeing the trees we planted together grow into a lush green forest.

This year, we will once again express our heartfelt gratitude to all F&P employees and their families who support their work by delivering dairy products from Sagotani Farmer, a gift from nature. We have added pudding and cheese in response to the positive feedback we received last year. Sagotani Farm is also encouraged by the joyful feedback from our employees. We hope to share the vision of Sagotani Farmer, which is dedicated to “ecological restoration” and “the future of food” in the forest where cows live, along with F&P’s SDGs initiatives, with all of you this year as well.

Recent Activities

  • May 2024

    Third tree-planting event

From May 24 to 25, a team of 17 members primarily from the Central Business Division, Western Japan Business Division, and Kyushu Business Division participated in a tree-planting event. Despite the unseasonably hot weather, we were able to complete the planned tasks successfully. This was the third time holding this event, and compared to previous years, both the number of trees planted and the area covered were significantly expanded, making it a challenging experience for first-time participants. Working as a team, experienced members and those meeting for the first time showed great teamwork and helped each other. After finishing the work, we enjoyed a BBQ and campfire, with a sense of fulfillment and delicious food in an open space, and had a great time. We also named the goats that help us with weeding and maintenance in our forest “Mirai” (meaning “future”) with our heartfelt wishes. We hope they will continue to play a part in supporting the future of nature and food.

This year, dairy products will once again be delivered to employees and their families. We hope that everyone will enjoy this gift from nature and take a moment to consider what they can do for the earth, even in small ways.
