Challenge in Myanmar

I joined the company in April 2012 at the age of 68. Since June 2016, I have been traveling to Myanmar for two weeks every month to supervise the project that F&P provides construction supervision service and the construction of a service apartment for Japanese designed by a joint venture with F&P, Fukamatsugumi, and Kakehashi, general contractor in Myanmar.
The structure of concrete buildings in Myanmar is composed of pillars, bridges, and floors, and all walls are brick buildings. Therefore, the way of processing the construction site differs greatly from that of Japan, and it was managed in an outdated construction method from our point of view. In order to build a building of Japanese quality, we put effort into educating the local general contractors who have become our partner, and also provide them with careful guidance on work schedules and safety management. Recently, the site has been rated as the best quality in Yangon.
Many Japanese companies have established operations as the last country to support development in Asia, and construction projects are expected to increase in the future. In order to build a building of Japanese quality, I would like to contribute to the development of the construction industry in Myanmar while focusing on the education of Myanmar engineers.

Message

I am trying to teach young engineers in Myanmar with all the knowledge I have gained in the field while working at construction company in Japan. I believe that Japanese architectural technology is the best in the world in all aspects. The local engineers has a strong sense of trying to absorb knowledge, and it is a rewarding task. Seeing the project progress day by day as I instructed, makes me feel a sense of fulfillment. I look forward to meeting new members who wish to demonstrate their own experiences abroad.
