About Fukushima Koriyama LL Town Building
The “Fukushima Koriyama LL Town Building,” completed in October 2025 in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, is a logistics facility that marks the beginning of the development of “Fukushima Koriyama LL Town,” a logistics facility complex park consisting of multiple logistics facilities.
This development is a city planning project centered on an environmentally conscious logistics facility that combines “logistics facilities” that support people’s lives during normal times and “disaster prevention functions” that protect people’s lives during disasters. The “LL” in LL Town has two meanings: Logistics (a logistics base that serves as social infrastructure supporting people’s lives) and Life-line (a regional and wide-area disaster prevention cooperation base that protects people’s lives during disasters).
This facility is equipped with the functions of the “Fukushima Koriyama Future Co-Creation Center,” operated by the Company under the concept of Disaster Prevention Reversible Building®, serving as a logistics base supporting daily life during normal times and a disaster prevention base protecting lives during disasters.
Koriyama City, where the facility is located, is a transportation hub called the “Crossroads of Tohoku,” where the Ban-etsu Expressway connecting the Pacific Ocean and the Japan Sea intersects with the Tohoku Expressway. The Ban-etsu Expressway connects east and west, and by utilizing multiple expressways, transportation to the Tokyo metropolitan area, Hokuriku region, and Kansai region is possible. Furthermore, by using the Ban-etsu Expressway and Hokuriku Expressway, it is possible to transport goods to the Kansai region without going through the Tokyo metropolitan area. Therefore, this facility functions as an excellent base not only for wide-area logistics during normal times but also for wide-area disaster prevention during disasters.
Leveraging our experience in restoring 72 facilities after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Company has completed the environmentally conscious logistics facility “Fukushima Koriyama LL Town Building” in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, which combines logistics and disaster prevention functions. Utilizing this facility and aiming to strengthen a rapid and effective support system during disasters, we will support disaster medical assistance by providing part of the BCP warehouse within the “Fukushima Koriyama Future Co-Creation Center” and the lounge during disasters to Japan Heart.
Through this agreement, we will fulfill our corporate social responsibility, further strengthen our disaster prevention and mitigation initiatives, and contribute to improving national resilience through cooperation with Japan Heart.
