Regional Subsidiary in Myanmar

FUKUDA AND PARTNERS INTENSIFIES ASIA EXPANSION

Jointly with Fukamatsugumi

FUKUDA AND PARTNERS Co., Ltd. (F&P, Tokyo, President & CEO Tetsuya Fukuda), the construction and real-estate co-sourcing company developing mainly logistics facilities, has established in Myanmar its regional subsidiary F&P Myanmar Co. Ltd., jointly with Fukamatsugumi Co., Ltd. (Miyagi-ken , President & CEO Tsutomu Fukamatsu). Investment ratio is 90% by F&P and 10% by Fukamatsugumi. The company opened its office in Yangon in December 2014, has hired local staff, and business will commence in 2015.

F&P Myanmar will start with real-estate brokerage and construction design for offices and housing for Japanese corporations and expatriates, through which it intends to establish cooperative relationships with local architect offices. As the local infrastructure develops and expansion of Japanese logistics companies into Myanmar accelerates, F&P intends to launch the same co-sourcing services there that it currently provides in Japan, undertaking site selection, basic business planning, project management, architectural design and supervision, constructor selection, construction supervision, and facility operation management after completion.

While F&P Myanmar is positioned as a subsidiary of Fukuda & Partners Asia Pte. Ltd., established in Singapore in April 2014, it will start business ahead of the Singapore office. It has already been contracted for real-estate brokerage as well as design and supervision of serviced apartments.

Tetsuya Fukuda, F&P President and CEO, emphasizes its business advantages, mentioning, “We can differentiate ourselves by being able to support customers expanding into Myanmar not only by providing advice in Japan, but through local on-site support encompassing real-estate introductions to facility construction planning.” He also expresses his passion, saying, “We’d like to achieve many successes in Myanmar with our differentiated comprehensive services in construction and real-estate, and become a company that contributes to the local community and is cherished for that.”

Aside from Singapore and Myanmar, the company is also establishing cooperative relationships with architect offices in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. It is in the process of creating a network in the Asian region by which the customers, when constructing their facilities, can freely select the architect office, construction company and specialized constructor in accordance with their quality level requirements, either from Japan or from each locality.

The company, with its Singapore office as the hub for expansion in Asia, intends to eventually generate 20-30% of its total revenue in overseas business, and half of that in Myanmar.
