Sendai Nagamachi Future Co-Creation Center Receives Visit from National Government Officials
On January 21, representatives from a national government agency—six individuals in total—visited the “Sendai Nagamachi Future Co-Creation Center,” a disaster-resilient office building that functions differently during normal and emergency situations, which was planned and developed by our company.
The visit was prompted by their interest in the Sendai Nagamachi Future Co-Creation Center being featured as a case study of private sector initiatives for national resilience. During the visit, we provided explanations about the background of the facility’s establishment, ongoing initiatives based on the four-party agreement (disaster prevention events, various drills, disaster prevention education, etc.), and conducted a facility tour.
We are very pleased that the facility has drawn such interest.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who visited.
We hope that this experience will contribute to raising disaster prevention awareness among the visitors, and we will continue to engage in activities that benefit the local community.

About Sendai Nagamachi Future Co-Creation Center
The Sendai Nagamachi Future Co-Creation Center is a disaster-resilient reversible building planned, designed, and developed by Fukuda & Partners, born from the “experience” of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the “desire” to protect and support the lives of people in the community.
During normal times, it serves as a suburban office building providing various services while contributing to a decarbonized society through the procurement of 100% renewable energy electricity and the introduction of a V2X system compatible with electric and hydrogen vehicles.
During emergencies, it transforms into a regional disaster prevention facility. Based on insights from joint research with Tohoku University’s International Research Institute of Disaster Science on corporate disaster prevention, regional disaster prevention, and BCP (Business Continuity Planning), the facility ensures uninterrupted electricity for three days through storage batteries and emergency generators. Furthermore, in accordance with an agreement with Sendai City, it functions as a temporary shelter for people unable to return home.
