The opening ceremony of “Aeon Next Honda CFC Construction” was held.

The opening ceremony for AEON Next Co., Ltd.’s “Aeon Next Honda CFC”, which F&P provided project management, was held on July 10, 2023

The facility was constructed in Hoda, Midori-ku, Chiba as the first CFC (customer fulfillment center) of “Next Generation Online Supermarket” through a business alliance between AEON Next Co., Ltd. and Ocado Solutions in the U.K.

We have been conducting site reviews, basic plans, design and construction supervision as part of our project management plan since the beginning of the project. The construction work for this project was completed at the end of May 2022. Subsequently, Ocado undertook the installation of material handling equipment, and the opening ceremony was held. We would like to thank City of Chiba, AEON Next, Ocado, Taisei Corporation and all others involved for their efforts.

The facility is the first facility in Japan as a CFC utilizing Ocado’s forefront robotics technology. This was a challenging project that involved adapting Ocado’s facility standards, which have been deployed around the world, to Japanese regulations and seismic standards.

Utilizing our experience in this project, we are currently supervising the design of a second and third CFC facility, and are aiming for early completion of a service network throughout the Tokyo metropolitan area.
