The construction of Okinawa Yamato Transport’s “Okinawa Base” was completed.

2023/05/26

The completion ceremony for the Okinawa Yamato Transport’s Okinawa Base, which F&P provided project management service, was held on May 22.

This project aims to effectively use the existing site and building to “increase the volume of cargo handled” in line with the expansion of internet shopping and inbound demand, and to “improve the work environment for employees” in line with the promotion of employment.

F&P provided project management of basic planning, design and contractor selection support, design supervision, construction supervision, and material handling coordination and promoted the project.

In this project, the existing vehicle maintenance shop and cool room were removed, and a cargo handling building was added to that space. A new head office building and a parking building (250 spaces) were constructed in the vacant space on the site.
The head office building, the cargo handling building, and the parking lot building are connected by a corridor so that each building can be accessed without being exposed to rain, and the maximum building coverage ratio was used to make effective use of the site.
The headquarter building was designed to be symbolic, yet universal, and to be loved by everyone for generations, while the cargo handling building can now handle approximately 1.5 times more cargo than before.

We hope that this facility will contribute to the further business development of Okinawa Yamato Transport.
