Supporting local community through logistics

As a sales representative, I am involved in supporting operations for the development of logistics facilities, focusing on the Tohoku branch of our customers. There are many large-scale logistics facilities centered on Tohoku Expressway at Tohoku region. In addition to these large-scale logistics facilities, the Eastern Japan Operations Department supports small and medium-sized logistics facilities in each region and supports the renovation of existing warehouses.

In the Sendai Nagamachi FC Project, an ongoing in-house development project, as a local person in charge, I am conducting leasing activities for tenants and coordinate with the aim of creating facilities that are disaster prevention and environmentally conscious, in order to create only our BCP facility but also a information base for corporate disaster prevention. Amid such issues as population decline, labor shortage, and natural disasters, logistics has become an infrastructure for people’s lives, and I feel that the importance and satisfaction of my work is to support customers, such as food affiliates and e-commerce companies, in turn serves as support for the community.

Relocated to a four-minute walking location from Nagoya Station, the largest railway terminal in the Chubu region, in December 2021. Located in the conveniently famous station area, the office is at an attractive and comfortable commuting environment to go home from work

Environment that further expands past experience

In my previous job, I performed site management for a major construction company, and we responded to various requests from our customers, including construction supervision to estimation of the building, building diagnosis, expansion and renovation plans, repair plans, and estimation scrutiny.
Basically, my work is based on my experience from my previous job, but I am in a position that is closely aligned with the customer, and meet many new people and get to experience new challenges in the course of my duties.
If there is anything that we do not understand in our work, we try to solve problems one by one through trial and error on a team basis while receiving information sharing from experienced members in the company. The moment when customers appreciate such sincere responses is the moment when they feel a sense of accomplishment above all else.

In the Chubu Division, there are particularly many projects related to the Head Office, and we have a wealth of communication with the technical members who have long supported F&P, and we have received good incentives from everyday. We intend to take on challenges in various projects with the aim of further growth in the future.

The office moved into the “Nomura Midosuji Honmachi Building (formerly Toshiba Osaka Building),” a perfect location where Midosuji and Honmachi-dori intersect. It is almost directly connected to Honmachi Station, and is an outstanding commuting environment. The building is also equipped with a refreshing environment, such as a popular cafe.

Challenging from other industry and to help create logistics facilities

I mainly assist visiting customers, prepare proposal materials, collect property information, prepare estimates and contracts, and create meeting notes. In my previous job, I was engaged in sales in other industry, but made a decision to challenge in construction and real estate industry.

Although I have many to learn, the attractiveness of this job is to be involved in the preparation of logistics and related facilities, which are regarded as social infrastructures, and I am happy that what I created and researched be used to customers, businesses people, and everyone involved in the project.

The Western Japan Operations Department is mainly focus on customers in the Kansai region, but there are many businesses for which we cooperate and follow up with the head office members, and there are many opportunities to engage with various employees. Compared to the head office, there are few members at the office, but the fact that I can ask my superiors and seniors casually may be a better environment than the head office.

There are technical terms that I don’t know yet, and I find it rewarding to learn. Going forward, I want to absorb information from the daily experience and broaden the range of proposals so to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

Relocated to the Tenjin Business Center in December 2021. This facility is the large-scale complex that has just been completed with the lower floors are scheduled to be a commercial facility. It is a very convenient environment for commuting at the office with of state-of-the-art facility directly linked to the Tenjin station in the center of Fukuoka.
