F&P participated in the opening event of the Kamaishi Unosumai Memorial Stadium and cheered our sponsoring team, Kamaishi Sea Waves!

2018/08/19

On August 19, 2018, F&P participated in the opening event to commemorate the completion of the Kamaishi Unosumai Memorial Stadium. Part of the proceeds from the Memorial Match Game ticket and Charity Memorial T-shirt will be donated to the Kamaishi Rugby Children’s Future Fund. In addition, the profits from stores opened at events will be utilized in the reconstruction of the local community.

The stadium was devastated by the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, with many victims around the area. Although all the students were miraculously saved, it was built on the site of the completely destroyed Usui Elementary School and Kamaishi Higashi Junior High School.

The stadium is the only new venue for the Rugby World Cup 2019 to be held next year. Of the 6,000 permanent seats, 5,000 seats are made of wood, and used cedar wood from the area that was damaged by the forest. On the day of the event, it recorded a close-to-full mobilization of personnel, and we were deeply touched by the commemoration of the victims of the earthquake and expectations for the holding of the World Cup. F&P will continue to contribute to the reconstruction of Kamaishi through rugby, the fostering of young people nationwide, and regional exchanges and contributions.
